Written by Steve Kwan of the excellent BJJ Mental Models, this article from Bullshido dives into a tough but important idea: if we tolerate everything—including intolerance—we risk losing the kind of respectful, inclusive culture most of us want in jiu-jitsu. Drawing on philosopher Karl Popper’s paradox of tolerance, it makes the case that letting toxic behavior slide in the name of being open-minded actually weakens the whole community. It’s a call to draw the line when necessary to protect the space we train in.
